Laura Linney, best known for her strong but vulnerable characters, is one of the most celebrated American actors of the present. Her father was a renowned playwright, but Linney was raised as an all-only child by a single mom, a nurse. During the summers when she was with her father, Linney developed a passion for theatre. She eventually studied acting first at Brown University then at Juilliard School. Following her graduation she started an Broadway career. A few years later, she was in the world of television. Since then she has been appearing in a variety of films, TV productions and stage shows. There have been numerous awards in her long career.
