April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born on July 4, 1995. At the age of seven she started taking guitar lessons and piano lessons. The lessons ignited her interest for songwriting. At the age of 12 April wrote her first tune Different. At 14, April spent much time writing her lyrics, and perfecting her musicianship skills. The songwriting began with her father at home in NY and LA within a short time. April was the month that she began to write about other issues in her book Take My Hand to help her friends who were dealing issues with bullying, disabilities or even suicidal thoughts. Lockhart is a lifestyle and beauty influencer that has an ever-growing number of followers. She works with popular brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership in addition to being a life expert. Lockhart was born without a left hand. It's one aspect of who she is, but this isn't the whole truth. Lockhart does not deny that she has a disability through her Instagram page however she doesn't place it in the spotlight of it. The message is? The message? That we have many different aspects, that the identities we have and our physical bodies don't always reflect what appear. Lockhart said via video she does not wish to be defined by the condition she has. She doesn't wish to work as a disability advocate who only talks about that. There are so many aspects to Lockhart. The issue doesn't affect my everyday activities. I carry on doing my job as normal and have come up with my own methods to adjust. It's a big aspect of my existence, which is why it's crucial to talk about the subject. Lockhart's self-acceptance journey will be one that lasts a lifetime, but she has been a source of inspiration in this regard. But she has admitted to going through phases with her body and sometimes not being confident in wearing particular types of clothes that showed off her arms. The fashionista wears what she loves and proudly posts pictures of her in the outfits she wears on social media. Self-love she said is a process. "I do not think that it's possible to be in that place," she said. It's a fact that I see with anyone, no matter what their issue may be. People you spend time with that truly understand you and see right into your heart, are those who will remind you why it's important.
