Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born August 9, 1976, in Beaumont Puy de Domme. The actress was inspired by her parents, a dentist and a teacher who were both teachers to pursue her interest in theatre. This contrasted her earlier ambition to pursue a career as a primateologist since she loved monkeys. It was a quick rise in her career to become a well-known young actress. Her career began in earnest at the age of 1999 when she started acting professionally. Following her studies Tautou took part in the French television show for talent scouting called Jeunes Premiers. While she attended The Institut Catholique de Paris and was a member of the church during her childhood, Tautou has stayed away from her religious upbringing and has stated that she's not Catholic. Alongside her acting career, Tautou has also been a model and the face for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. An avid photographer, she created a show during the Arles International Festival titled Superficial. Her photographs are largely about the spotlight and fame. The exhibit also includes self-portraits and also. Audrey Tautou's international popularity and success exploded following her role as Amelie Poulain's lead woman in Le Fabuleux in the film d'Amelie. Amelie has been an international box office success and has been lauded at numerous award events around the globe. It's the most-grossing French film made in America. The success of this movie led Tautou to a variety of roles, from British dramas as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
